Thanks to Nothing2Hide for this great plugin.
An issue people often struggle with in data matching is the inclusion of random quotes within columns of data – for example,
Company_Name = O”hara systems corp
When you export data into a quoted CSV format, the rogue quotes (“) cause problems with systems being able to properly identify the columns within the list.
An easy solution for this is to use the REPLACE function available in most database systems during the output, i.e.
REPLACE(Company_Name,’”‘,”)

I’d like to post a big thank you to all our Beta Testers, you have all helped make Match2Lists the fantastic solution that it is today.
Please do continue to provide feedback, we are always listening and looking for ways in which we can make Match2Lists work better for you.
On occasion, you may find that a list you are uploading fails, and is not accepted by Match2Lists. There are many reasons why this may happen.
The most common reason we have found is lists having inconsistent numbers of columns in every row.
We have seen this happen where the list has been edited in a standard Text Editor rather than a structured tool such as Microsoft Excel. When editing Lists in a Text Editor it’s easy to remove carriage returns, which results in rows being merged together creating the inconsistent number of columns.
If for any reason your list does fail to load, you will need to remove the list from your available lists. You do this by clicking on the delete button shown in the picture below.
Clicking on the error code will pop up a window telling you why the list failed to load so, that you can investigate and fix the issue and then try again.
Following ongoing testing with data for the USA we have now added the data description ‘State’.
We have also included all the transformation logic, so matching of states will happen without you needing to standardise all your US address lists to either full State Name or Abbreviated State Name.
Obviously, the ‘State’ data description is not relevant for all countries, and transformation rules will only exist for countries where it is relevant.
In short, if you have multiple company names you should be using them during the data matching process, as either of them could exist in the list you are matching to.
